Located just outside of Phoenix, AZ. BPSI has been “lighting the way to a brighter tomorrow” for our registered representatives and clients since 1984. Our approach is straight-forward: support our Reps and clients to identify specific long-term goals and then develop and implement strategies to meet them. Our unique combination of the best Reps in the industry and convenient access to an extensive portfolio of mutual funds, variable products, stocks and bonds provides clients peace of mind when thinking about how to achieve their financial services goals.
In 2018, BPSI took a quantum leap forward in our mission to better serve our reps and clients, partnering with Brokers Alliance and Acrylic Financial to create a 3-legged stool for financial services. By synthesizing a captive business model in an independent setting, our firms’ respective reps, agents and advisors have access to the some of the biggest and best companies, products and services in the financial services industry.

Key Team Members
Charles R. Brettell, President
Charles R. “Bob” Brettell is the owner of and a registered representative with Brooklight Place Securities®, Inc. (“BPSI”), holding SIE (Securities Industry Essentials), Series 7 (General Securities Representative), 66 (Uniform Combined State Law/Investment Advisory), 27 (Financial Operations Principal) and 24 (General Securities Principal) licenses and a licensed insurance agent. Prior to acquiring BPSI, Mr. Brettell founded The Prosody Group, a full service management consulting, strategic advisory and communications firm, where he continues to serve clients in the agriculture, energy and financial services industries. Mr. Brettell was also a founder of Energy Asset Advisors, an energy industry financial consulting firm, and held executive posts with Tyr Energy and Aquila, Inc. (a Fortune 50 company).
Mr. Brettell’s diverse career experience has included, among other things, stints in investment banking, private equity, utilities and franchising. Among relevant duties in his career, Mr. Brettell has led and managed asset acquisition, due diligence, debt and equity financing, merger integration, project development and start-up/turn-around management. Mr. Brettell has also worked as an attorney in private practice handling business and litigation matters.
Mr. Brettell earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Maryland, a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Laws (Tax) degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
